Welcome to our first-ever "News from Design by J" issue...
Don't worry, we won't inundate you with these unless we have important news to share! Right now we have several things we think will be of interest to you!


1. NEW!!! Now you can pay your invoice with Paypal.

Paypal, as you know, is a very secure method of transferring funds. Nobody ever sees your credit information, which protects you and us! All you have to do is log on to paypal.com, sign in to your account, then you can send money to jan@designbyj.com using any form of payment you prefer... Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, or even your Debit Card!

Ok, yeah, there's a catch. We do ask that you add $3.00 to your invoice total if you pay this way, to help defray the cost of offering this new option. You all know we are a small business, and times are hard, but we feel it's a small price to pay for such convenience: no more check-writing, finding a stamp, addressing an envelope, getting it to the post office... Feedback?


2. Do you have a form on your site? Are you being annoyed with spam from your form?

We now offer Captcha Code, available to add to your form for a one-time fee of $60*. You can see this in action on our Contact Us page. Captcha coding is a good way to cut down on spam, as the form will not be submitted unless the "code" is duplicated by you. Robotic spammers can't do this, so the form isn't sent, and just in case someone real forgot, it includes a message that the code wasn't submitted correctly, so they can try again. It also includes a convenient button to change the code just in case they can't read the one that is showing... I'm sure you've all seen this before, it is good solid asp coding. If you don't already have one, we also include a redirect to a thank you page once the form is successfully sent! Contact us about this today!
*If your form includes customized coding done by a programmer, additional fees may apply...


3. Yup, it's time for our "Great Escape" again... ok actually two of them...

First, as usual, we will be closing for the July 4th holiday and will be closed on Friday, July 3rd. We are also upgrading our equipment at this time and so will also be closed on Monday, July 6th in order to ensure we are ready to go when we re-open.

Then, as you all know, we make our "Great Escape" one week in the summer and between Christmas and News Years... This year our summer "great escape" will be a working vacation; although we are 11 years old, our office is now 5 years old and in need of some reorganization and paint!!! I know, wish it was a beach, but hey, gotta take care of biz...

So, Design By J, LLC will be closed starting Monday, August 3rd through Monday August 10th, returning to serve your needs on Tuesday, August 11th at 9am sharp.

As usual, we will discuss any projects in house to ensure you are taken care of before we close, or to schedule them once we get back...


4. Full service e-mail campaigns... save printing and mailing costs with DBJ!

We offer full-service e-mail campaigns, complete with individualized design of your e-mail base template (a one-time fee to create a unified look for all your e-mail campaigns), our fair fees for inserting content into each e-mail campaign you want to send, automatic opt-out updates once your initial database is uploaded, and complete reporting to find out who opened your e-mail, who "clicked through" to any of your offers, and more... We can even add a form onto your website where people can opt-in to receive news, special offers, etc. from you and it automatically will update your uploaded database... seamlessly.

We have partnered with Boomerang to offer lower prices than Constant Contact and many other e-mail campaign companies... (Usual fees are between $30-$90 to design the e-mail, although intensive newsletters may be more, and only 2¢ each to e-mail out your news, newsletter, special offers, etc. at a time and day you specify). The fee we quote includes uploading, testing, and scheduling your mailing. Ask about reduced e-mail fees if you have a database with over 3000 names...

What do you need to get started? Simple... a message you want to send without the expense of printing and mailing, and an excel database with Name, Company (if you choose), and e-mail address fields. Send that to us, and we do the rest!


5. And finally, did you know? We do flash presentations.

Design By J has a voiceover studio right here... we have created beautiful flash CD and website presentations for our clients complete with voiceovers (you can do the voiceover, hire someone to speak, and yes, some of our clients have asked Jan to do the voiceover for them), background music, and cool flash presentation we can drop to CD so you can give or mail it to prospects, and/or we can upload to your site. The national "standard" pricing for this type of flash presentation is $600 a minute, but we slash that to only $300 a minute, complete! If you want to see some samples, or create a dynamic presentation to showcase your company, let us know... we love to do these!
